Patient questions · choosing a provider

Who is actually
treating you?

It is the question most people are too polite to ask at the front desk, and the one that matters most before an injectable or a laser touches your skin. Here is how to ask it anywhere, and how we answer it at Reviv.

The four-person team at Reviv Med Spa in Millbrae, California, each named with their license on the providers page
Why it is a fair question

A name on the door
is not a credential.

Across the Peninsula and the wider Bay Area, one of the complaints that shows up again and again in low-rated med spa reviews is not about a result at all. It is about not knowing who did the treatment: a first name on an intake form, an assistant who stepped in, nobody in the room who could answer a medical question. You are right to want that settled before you book, not after.

A med spa is a medical setting. Injectables are prescription products; energy devices deliver real energy into skin. The person holding the syringe or the handpiece should have a license you can look up, and there should be a physician who is accountable for the plan even when that physician is not the one performing every treatment.

What to look for anywhere

Four things a good provider
will tell you without being asked.

Use these as a checklist at any practice, including ours.

  • A named medical director. Who is the physician responsible for the practice, and are they reachable? Ask for the name, then look it up.
  • Licenses you can verify. A California medical license number and an NPI for the physician; RN, LVN, or esthetician licensure for the team. A practice that publishes them has nothing to hide.
  • Who will be in the room. Not a department. A person, by name, before you book.
  • A plan that someone signed off on. Injectables and energy treatments should follow a plan reviewed by the medical director, not improvised chair-side.
How Reviv answers it

Named, licensed,
and on the page before you book.

Reviv Med Spa & Laser Treatment was founded and is directed by Dr. Gayle Misle, MD, an Anesthesiologist holding CA Medical License G38840 (NPI 1609846401). She is the Founder and Medical Director, and every plan for an injectable or energy-device treatment runs under her oversight.

The rest of the team is named with their credentials on the providers page, where every license is listed: Megan Sosnick, MSEL, MSN, RN, PHN, CNL, our Practice Manager and Aesthetic Nurse with twelve years at Reviv; Hanadi Al Ramahi, Medical Aesthetician; and Kelly Guevarra, LVN, Aesthetic Technician. Four people. You can read who they are, what they are licensed to do, and choose the provider you want to see when you request an appointment and pick your provider.

That is the whole difference: at Reviv the answer to "who is treating me" exists on a public page, in writing, with license numbers, before you ever sit in the chair. After eighteen years in Millbrae, with more than 300 reviews on Yelp and nearly 150 on our Google Business Profile, it is the thing patients from Burlingame, San Bruno, and San Mateo tell us mattered most.

Questions

Asked at the front desk,
answered here.

Is a physician involved in my injectable treatment at Reviv?

Yes. Dr. Gayle Misle, MD, an Anesthesiologist (CA Medical License G38840), is the Founder and Medical Director and oversees every treatment plan. Your treating provider is named with their license on the providers page.

Can I choose who treats me?

Yes. The booking request form lets you name the provider you would like to see, and your appointment is confirmed after our team contacts you.

How do I verify a provider's license myself?

Search the California Medical Board for a physician by name or license number, and the California Board of Registered Nursing or Board of Barbering and Cosmetology for nurses and estheticians. We publish ours so you can.
